Racine, Wisconsin – Friday April 9, 1999 – CyberLynk Network, Inc. announced today finalization of plans to move their Point Of Presence (POP) in downtown Chicago, as well as the completion of a new physical POP in Gurnee, Illinois. Completion for that facility is scheduled for the beginning of May.
CyberLynk is a regional Internet Service Provider with corporate offices in Racine, Wisconsin. CyberLynk provides complete Internet services to Corporations, Governments, Schools, and other Internet Service Providers. Currently CyberLynk has physical POPs in Racine, Kenosha, West Allis and Milwaukee Wisconsin as well as Chicago, Illinois.
CyberLynk is deploying new faster and higher density routers and switches as well as increasing bandwidth capacity to the Wisconsin network. CyberLynk’s network currently consists of fiber optic cable from TCG/AT&T, Time Warner and MFS and copper cable from Ameritech and other sources, providing meshed, redundant connectivity. Each POP has backup power including Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and generators for reliable ongoing operation.
CyberLynk already provides T1, Fractional T1 and hosting services to Illinois businesses. With this expansion, CyberLynk will be a major provider of dial-up and ISDN services in area codes 312, 708, 630, 773, and 847 in Illinois as well as the 414 area code in Wisconsin.
CyberLynk also provides wholesale dial-up service to other smaller ISPs. These ISP customers will be able to extend their service area as well. A partial list of these ISPs, and other information about CyberLynk, can be found on CyberLynk’s web site (https://www.cyberlynk.net).
