Update: April 26, 2020 – 9:54 AM CDT
The planned maintenance on 4/25/2020 was intended to improve the efficiency of our core network and minimize the number of devices that would need to participate in routing of traffic and expand our capacity for distinct network segments. We are anticipating further expansion, plus adding a fast distribution layer for some new storage demands we are seeing.
This was a carefully planned event and in all of our tests had predictable results, however once performed in production produced some serious, unexpected problems. We are working to revert all changes and restore connectivity and stabilize our network, but it is a delicate process and is ongoing. We will do our best to plan carefully and keep you informed as we move forward.
Our immediate time and focus is on stabilizing the network and investigating any potential lingering problems. Then we will turn our focus on what went wrong and how we can better test and anticipate potential issues going forward, and introduce these changes in a less impactful way, or provide more notice and a larger window of time.
Our goal is to respond to the challenges posed by significant increases in demand as more people move workloads to the cloud and doing so is never without challenges. We understand this experience may have shaken your confidence in us as a provider and we understand that we must not only work to repair our network, but your trust as well.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
