LINUX SYSTEMS ENGINEER I
(FULL Time – Salary Position)
Job Description/Responsibilities: CyberLynk is currently seeking a Linux Systems Engineer I to join our growing Engineering department. The Linux Systems Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- For Server Operations, support day-to-day operations of Deployment Systems and hosting services
- Script the automation of regular tasks to help streamline operations and perform data collection
- Work directly with customers via phone and trouble tickets to resolve hosting service related issues
- Participate in the planning of future network services and development of applications/software to accomplish requirements
- Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation with peers
- Work on technical projects, working with staff and vendors to gather requirements, scope technical efforts, determine solutions, setup project tasks/plans, and implement those solutions
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years as a Linux Systems Administrator
- MUST Have experience with Apache, Litespeed, CentOS, Nagios, Cacti, DNS, hosted services, MySQL, R1soft, WordPress, cPanel
- Must be familiar with cPanel installation and configuration
- Background in IT or in a Data Center team
- System Monitoring and Automation
- Good knowledge of network design – Working with Firewalls, DNS, Load Balancers
- Strong sense for security – both internally and on the hosting systems
- Experience maintaining massive amounts of storage including backup systems
- Advanced Linux System Administration, Configuration, and System Security
- Advanced systems troubleshooting skills
- Prefer some programming experience (particularly Perl, PHP, HTML, MySQL)
- Prior experience in software as service architectures (SaaS)
- Experience working with an On Demand company
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Able to work independently and well on a team
- Creative thinking and ability to ‘think outside the box’ are ESSENTIAL
- Well organized, attentive to details, and able to meet demanding deadlines
What you will be doing:
- Install, configure and maintain servers
- Act as organizational interface with customers and provide internal analysis and support
- Help design new architectures and systems
- Manage performance of multiple hardware and software platforms
- Assist in server migrations
- Phone/Online Chat/Email tech support
Job Desirables (Preferred):
- 4 year degree from accredited college/university or equivalent real world experience
- A+, CCNA, MCP, Linux Certifications, etc.
- Web Hosting and ISP experience
- Windows Server Experience
